Esports entertainment company BLAST has announced a sponsorship with Progressive Insurance to become Presenting Sponsor of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championship 2024. Progressive is the second largest personal auto insurer in the United States, a leading seller of commercial auto, motorcycle, and boat insurance, and one of the country’s top 15 homeowners insurance carriers.
The RLCS World Championship (10th-15th September) will be hosted at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, which will bring together the best Rocket League teams and talent from across the globe to compete for the title of world champion and a million dollar prize pool.
Fans attending the event will not only enjoy the top-tier esports competition but also an array of Progressive-branded activations. In addition, the sponsorship will extend to digital platforms, where Progressive will be integrated into RLCS broadcasts, including the first ever brand placement on the iconic RLCS World Championship Ball and the end season awards presentation for Striker, Saviour and Playmaker of the Year.
Alexander Lewin, SVP of Commercial Revenues for BLAST, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Progressive as the Presenting Sponsor of the RLCS World Championship 2024. This highly-anticipated event will see the world’s best Rocket League talent gather in Fort Worth to decide the world champions and we are excited to have Progressive at the heart of this activity. We can’t wait to see how they enhance this championship event for fans both in the arena and online.”
Jay VanAntwerp, Media Business Leader at Progressive, said: “Progressive is always looking for creative ways to interact with customers at the events and activities they’re passionate about. We’re thrilled to be a part of the RLCS World Championship and can’t wait to help bring fans a unique and engaging experience both on the ground in Fort Worth and online”
This year’s championship for Rocket League, the high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem, runs from September 10-15 and returns to Dickies Arena on September 13-15 for the final three days of competition in front of a live audience. The culmination of the RLCS 2024 season, the Rocket League World Championship will feature the 16 best international teams and a $1,165,000 USD prize pool.
