₹90.47 lakh-worth medical equipment, generators donated to hospital

NLC Tamil Nadu Power Limited (NTPL) has donated medical equipment and generators worth ₹90.47 lakh to the Government Thoothukudi Medical College and Hospital under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

NTPL, a joint venture between NLC India Limited and Tangedco, has been supporting the hospital under its CSR initiative for the past three years. This year, the organisation has donated medical equipment, including a laparoscopic equipment worth ₹5 lakh, to the hospital’s general surgery department, and an orthopaedic bone drilling equipment worth ₹19 lakh.

It has also equipped the hospital with two 250 kVA diesel generators, besides carrying out electrical and building works at a cost of ₹66.47 lakh.

A function to mark the launch of these facilities was held at the hospital on Monday. During the event, Chief Executive Officer of NTPL K. Anandaramanujam handed over the CSR contribution to Dean G. Sivakumar.

Medical Superintendent R. Padmanabhan, Resident Medical Officer Silas Jeyamani and other NTPL officials were present.
