The Confederation of Indian Industry-Andhra Pradesh (CII-AP) said in its ‘vision for a global startup ecosystem in the State’ that Andhra Pradesh has the potential to become a global startup hub under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
“The rural areas offer untapped potential for innovation in sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and fintech. Leveraging technologies like robotics and AI can transform the challenges into scalable opportunities,” CII-AP chairman V. Murali Krishna stated in the vision document.
The State is committed to fostering innovation, sustainable development, and technological advancement and the ten principles enunciated in the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 are in alignment with the goals of strengthening the startup ecosystem, he observed.
Mr. Murali Krishna said the highlights of Swarna Andhra Vision include employment generation through encouraging industrial startups and providing skill training for developing a competitive workforce, integration of technology by leveraging deep technologies across sectors, especially in agriculture and rural startups, establishment of global infrastructure standards to support business expansion, and ensuring balanced development with ecological preservation through initiatives like Swachh Andhra.
“With a burgeoning population and rising consumerism, India is poised to become the global leader in startups. A.P. is leading this charge by addressing unique challenges with tailored solutions. However, challenges persist, including financial accessibility, regulatory navigation, and talent retention. Simplifying policies and ensuring adequate funding are essential to support deserving startups”, Mr. Murali Krishna observed.
Further, the CII-AP chief said the financial stability of startups in A.P. was ensured through the State government’s ₹100 crore startup fund which is facilitated by A.P. Innovation Society. Besides, the government enhanced the market access for startups by reserving for them a share of State projects, while also providing networking opportunities.
CII-AP vice-chairman G. Murali Krishna stated that CII and the State government were working on a collective mission to make the State a beacon for startups across the globe, and asserted that Andhra Pradesh was on the cusp of becoming a startup hub, inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs to build a better future for all.
